With only two months till the start of racing season, LPOYC is proud to announce the 2018 racing calendar!
The first race of the season will be April 22. That day, there will be a Rules Seminar to go over any changes and update everyone on the procedures for 2018. Following the Seminar, the first race of the Spring Rum Runner Series kicks off.
This year’s calendar contain a bonus Wednesday night series, with races running weekly from May 9 – September 5 (except July 4th). There will be three series of 6 races each (18 total)!
Planning has already begun for the Goat Float on May 26-7, presented by Idaho Central Credit Union. This year there will be a special cruising distance race for the non-buoy racers!
MacDonald’s Great Single Hander will be held Sunday, July 8, with an inverted start format.
Another cruising event, the Race for Hope will take place on August 4-5. The plan is for the fleet to sail to Hope, Idaho, to meet up with boats from Sandpoint, and spend Saturday night. Boats will return on Sunday. If anyone would like to coordinate this event, please contact Steve Dahlstrom at LPOYCRC@gmail.com.
The season continues with the Summer No-Wine-ing and Fall Growler series, and finishes with the Commodore’s Cup on September 29-30.
