The second series of LPOYC Wednesday night racing concluded under cloudy skies and light rain. Un-dampened by the conditions, the fleet held a spirited contest involving almost all of the non-spinnaker division. Overall winner, spinnaker boat Paul Franz’ Lady of the Lake, won the last race, and took the series. Among the non-spinnaker boats, Jess Troyer on Into the Mystic showed that consistent racing and a commitment to improvement pays dividends. Update: Bruce Robertson, from Sandpoint Sailing, has notified me that there was a mistake in the announcement for the Friday showing of “Sense the Wind” at the
Panida in Sandpoint…the notice says start time is 7:30…the corrected time (with appropriate handicap) is 7:00 on Friday evening.
Hope many will attend this inspiring show.

Congratulations to Raven, Lady of the Lake, and John Gurley Cat for their wins today.

Challenge Cup standings are now posted. Remember, a boat needs to complete three races and be in the top eight boats in their fleet to qualify for the Commodore’s Cup.

Next Sunday is the first race of the No Wine-ing Summer Series. Depending on the wind, there may be some staggered starts in the very near future.
